Self defense products are the safety weapons which are used to protect yourself from the attacker. The common self products which are used in emergency are:

pepper spray: These spray uses a powder that is actually an extract from some chili peppers . It is made from a part of the plant called capsicum oleoresin . This restricts the supply of oxygen in the body and the person gets unconscious. The spray styles are

A steady stream style Stream spray: may not give you the best results because the shot does not make tiny droplets. Using this type can have its upsides . The distance they can use at is much greater than the others . If it hits the face of the attacker there is a good change you can get away . From that distance there is little chance the spray can get on you .

The Cone Style : The cone mist spray are more effective than stream spray due to the much finer mist they create . If you are faced with more than one assailant you can create a “wall” of pepper spray. But the disadvantages included with this spray pattern are that it the effective distance it can be used is much less than the stream. They can be more difficult to control due to blow back spray .

The fogger style spray : This type of spray pattern is the most effective because the spray pattern is in the form of tiny dropletsso you will have a better opportunity to hit your assailant . However, a really big drawback is the fact it is easy for the wind to take it back to you .

3. Stun guns: It releases electric voltage and the attacker get stunned because of this. The electric shock will cause the attacker to lose control of their muscles. The best part is it will only cause the results for a short time frame . This is considered a non-lethal alternative

4.Tasers: Are commonly used by law enforcement departments to control unruly criminals. These look more like a real gun. They fire two metal probes attacked to a wire that sticks into the criminal . When the trigger is pull the charge will travel down the wire and into the muscles of your attacker .

There are many different choices out there for keeping yourself safe. The key is to find the type that fits you the best and you are comfortable using. You will also want to check with the local laws for where you are located. Some self defense products are not legal is all states
