The t shirt, believe it or not, has been involved in U.S. culture for over one hundred years. It was first introduced to a small segement of people during a war the United States was fighting and they have managed to evolve over the years. Today, there are urban t shirts, graphic ones, tie-dyed ones, and even many hundreds of colored ones. The urban t shirt, for example is the type of tee that references a city name either by using the actual name of the airport code on it. These clothing items have with absolute certainty come a long way since their beginnings so long ago.

The first ones were introduced to the military while they were fighting the Spanish American War. It would seem there is not any other documentation as to exactly when the first ones were produced, but as far as we know, this was the first time they were seen being worn. These items were only produced in such a plain shade because that was how the military ordered them.

After the military had been wearing them for some years, these articles of clothing soon found their way into the general consumer market. They became extremely common after a famous 1950s actor wore some in one of his extremely popular movies. From this point on this fascinating piece of material only continued to grow and change.

About 10 years after this item really took off in terms of popularity, the tie-dyed shirt was introduced to the market. This type was made even more famous by a popular band whose fans put on the clothing to show support for them. Tie-dyes can be found in all different color schemes.

Next it was the graphic tees during the 1980s when designers developed their own individual style into the items. These come in hundreds and hundreds of different styles, colors, and prints. Plenty of current fashion designers have at least one line of tees where they can show off their true personalities and beliefs in their collection.

Today, the newest thing to enter the market is city tees. These reference whatever city the individuals who is wearing one is from or where the individual grew up. They are pretty common amongst those who come from large, well-known cities, such as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Of course, pretty much any city tee can be worn by anyone.

Tees have come a long way since their start into the market during a war over a hundred years ago. They have developed so much in so many different ways and come to be such a staple in American culture it is hard to believe there was a time when they did not exist. There is a wide amount of tees out there, each showing off the individual’s personality who is wearing the item. Instead of just a simple white undergarment that was used as a lightweight garment to be put on under military uniforms, this piece of clothing has become a way for individuals to express their personalities and beliefs through the different graphics and colors that can be had on a tee. In the next few years, it will be fascinating|interesting} to see how this article of clothing will change over the next few years.
